Hi! I’m Rachel Summer Cheong. I’m a freelance illustrator based in Austin, Texas. I graduated in 2016 from Harvard University with an A.B. in the History of Art and Architecture and received my J.D. in 2019 from Yale Law School. While attending law school, I realized that law was not for me. Throwing caution to the wind, I gave up the job I had lined up and decided to chase my dreams in the arts.
I’m available for freelance assignments, so email me if you’d like to collaborate! Past clients have included Vox News and Move Texas.
Like life, I think art should be accessible and fun. My artwork is inspired by my love of bold colors, ink, textile design, funk and 80’s music, dancing, and fruit. I’m interested in beautiful things of all kinds, but especially the kind of beauty created by emotional and social outsiders. I was born in Austin and look forward to keeping it weird.
If you’re interested in following along on my art journey, you can find me on Instagram. Thanks for supporting me, a reckless youth.
